Best of Jewelry Stringing

I just received my copy of Best of Jewelry Stringing magazine in which I have a small part.  It's so nice to see Stringing again.  I love looking at all the beautiful designs for inspiration.  They always have the most interesting designs with innovative uses of components.  As a jewelry designer, it's always been one of my favorites and I was sad to see it go earlier this year.

Stringing Spring 2016

Hi Creative Friends!

The Secret Garden was one of my favorite books growing up, so when I saw the categories for the Spring issue of Jewelry Stringing back in November, I knew that category was right up my alley.  Luckily, the editors thought so, too.  I don't always make it into the pages of the magazine, so it's always nice to be included.  A sweet, romantic style is one I favor and this simple necklace picks up on that.  It would be great for Valentine's Day or any spring occasion.  I did something a little different in attaching the lavender flowers to the filigree button.  Check out the Spring Stringing issue to find out what I did!

Hi Crafty Friends!

I'm back from vacation recharged and ready to work! Good thing because I've got a pile of projects to design in everything from needlepoint to beads to new products. I love the creative life! 

There are new fall magazines out that are full of crafty goodness! Here's one! 

Jewelry Stringing magazine just released their fall issue.  My Moroccan Windows necklace and earrings made the cut!  It's under their Wanderlust section, where you'll find other travel-inspired jewelry.  I love their design calls because it always inspires me to step out of my design ruts and challenge myself.  On this necklace, I combined bright red and yellow with gold metal beads and turquoise.  It always amazes me how versatile turquoise is! It goes with everything!

Hot Trend: Stacked Bracelets

Hi Everyone!

One of the hot jewelry trends this year is stacked bracelets.  They can be three or four matching bracelets such as bangles with different charms, or a group with different colors but the same design, or three dissimilar bracelets with an underlying theme.  Whichever way you make them, they are big for summer wear!

Hi Crafty Friends!

I'm delighted once again to have a couple of my jewelry designs in the Winter 2014 issue of Jewelry Stringing.  Here's the necklace as it appears in the photo I took on my deck.  I'm pretty happy with my photography here, but I love what the Stringing staff did with my necklace in the magazine.  You can see it on page 38 of the magazine.  I am enjoying adding more fiber to my jewelry diet with some recycled sari ribbon!

I also have a pair of earrings on the earrings page.

One of the themes in the magazine this time was royalty and these earrings were created with that theme in mind.  There are some wonderful necklaces inspired by this popular trend in the magazine this time.
