Hi Everyone!
Today I'm participating in the Earrings Everyday: We're All Ears blog hop. I've been looking at it for the last few months, but I haven't been able to get it together and do one more thing. I'm a day late on this one, but closer than I have been, so here goes!
Here's the inspiration for this month's challenge - a collection of designer looks from a Project Runway designer, Monique Lhullier. Her combinations of patterns and lace with shiny and matte fabrics are really interesting. I really like the one shoulder dress design, so I'm designing earrings for that dress.
I have a lot of gunmetal and hematite that I thought would work with this design. I decided to take hematite diamonds and gunmetal ball pins and create a chain, then added a dark amethyst glass dangle at the bottom. They brush the shoulder and have a lot of movement due to the swivel effect of the pins.

I love long earrings and these are no exception!
ReplyDeleteLove those shoulder dusters! What a great way to connect the funky hematite pieces into a chain.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever way to get the length you wanted. There's an edge to these that is perfect for the designs in the inspiration.

These shoulder-dusters would make these dresses complete. How interesting that you created your own chain. That's brilliant! I'll have to remember that idea. I love the look of those balls inside the diamonds. Such an eye-catching detail. Swingy and cool earrings!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your kind comments. It's so much fun to be part of such a supportive and creative group.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice of using the gun metal? These are fabulous! Having long hair I am a huge fan of long earrings!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I love the use of the negative space. These would work equally well for each look! I can tell you that I would make these a regular in my rotation, they are great! Thanks for playing along with me. I always leave the InLinkz open for a week to make sure everyone who wants to participate can jump in! Check back on November 6th for the next inspiration for We're All Ears! Enjoy the day. Erin
