Live, Laugh, Love Wall Hanging

Hi Crafty Friends!

Today I'm sharing my latest project with JOY Iron-on letters.  In this design, I used some of the funky neon letters with black letters in another font.  Then, I cut some flowers with my Sizzix Big Kick and added buttons and floss.  It's so easy with these letters to create your favorite motto or saying.

You can find all the instructions on the Creating with JOY blog.

You can find these letters in Hobby Lobby or Michaels, or on the website if you don't have a store in your area.

We're All Ears :: January Reveal

Hi!

Today I accepted the We're All Ears challenge on the Earrings Everyday site and have made a pair of earrings in the new Pantone colors.  There are two colors of the year for 2016 - Rose Quartz and Serenity - basically a soft pink and a soft blue.  I happen to like both of these colors and have created jewelry in both, but I have never combined them.

Going through my stash of beads, I found this combination that I liked:  a frosted rose quartz faceted glass rondelle, an sapphire glass faceted cube with an AB finish and a clear pink E bead.  The AB finish on the blue glass picks up the pinks in the other beads.

Soft and Serene Earrings
These colors would be great for a wedding.  Making more of this same dangle and a vintage brass chandelier finding would be very elegant.  For a bolder look, add in the brighter pink or the darker blue from the 2016 Pantone colors.  Here's the full palette:

I think there are plenty of nice color combinations to last the year! That aqua and the tan, aqua and green and yellow, the grayish blue with the rose....yep, lots to work with!

CHA Bound

Hi Crafty Friends!

In a few days, I'll be off to the Craft and Hobby Mega Show!  It's the 75th anniversary of the organization, so it's sure to be a show to remember.

I'll be working in the Eye Connect Crafts booth again this year. Erin Sparler has created some amazing new products, which will be available at the show.  Eye Connect Crafts also has a new partnership with Sizzix/Ellison.  Be sure to check out the Eye Connect Crafts blog for more on that news.

Here's a little sneak peek of the project for the booth that is still in progress now!  Yes, I'm working up to the last minute!  I turned this:

Butterfly
Into these:

Butterflies
I'll be taking these butterflies along with some birds and making a mobile with them.  I really like the way they came out.  I painted them with Americana® Décor™ Chalky Finish Paint in three colors, then cut scraps of print fabric and old lace tablecloth to embellish the wings.  Then, I added paint or ink for distressing along with a little sanding and raveling of the edges of the fabric.

For more craft ideas with the recycled tag board shapes - both poppets and lace-ups, check out the blog.  If you are attending the show, please stop by Booth #2206 and say hello.  We've got make-and-takes going on all day and we'd love to show you around!
