Painted Desert Necklace

 Hi Everyone!

I'm excited to share that I have a new necklace design up on the Interweave site.

I had a lot of fun creating this.  I like to combine and contrast different materials so this necklace combines ceramic, gemstone, glass, coral and wood beads.  The necklace is strung on cord with a few easy overhand knots thrown in for spacing, so it's a simple style to create. The off-center clasp is a jasper toggle that I've been holding in my stash for quite a few years, and I was happy to finally find it a good home in this piece.

You can find the pattern on Interweave with all the details on materials and instructions.  Have fun!

Rainbow Brights Pattern Pack

Hi Friends!

Do you love Beadwork magazine, but you just do the Fast and Fabulous designs?  Interweave assembles the Fast and Fabulous designs in pattern packs just for you.  You can find them here.

Here are a some examples from the pattern pack:

Such fun colors and designs!  And, there's something for every skill level here.  I want to try the leather cord and bead bracelet with my granddaughter.  She's six and I think she will love making that one.  And, I love the rainbow-wrapped raffia circles.  Such fun and easy earrings!

Have fun!

Joyful Rainbow

 Hi Everyone!

The colorful summer issue of Beadwork magazine just arrived in my mailbox, and I had to share!

The Fast and Fabulous section is themed Rainbow Brights, and filled with fun designs for your summer wear.

Beadwork magazine will now be published four times a year, so get your copy now at Interweave.

Here's my photo of the necklace spread out so you can see the hanging strands.  This was a lot of fun to make.  I love stringing on waxed cord and using the colorful howlite beads.  It feels like a fiesta!

I'm looking forward to creating a pair of earrings to go with this - maybe some butterflies and tassels.

Happy Beading!

Leather and Pearls

Do you love the combination of elegant pearls with rustic leather?  Check out these necklaces selected from Beadwork magazine.  So many great ideas! Mine is the bottom center necklace entitled "Casual Elegance"  This pattern pack is available at Interweave.

Here's my photo of the necklace. Carved soapstone, coco wood rondelles and large hole pearls are strung on leather and hemp twine.  It's so fun and easy to do.  Try your own version of this necklace or use the same ideas and make a bracelet or earrings.

Happy beading!

Make a Spring necklace

 Hi friends!

Thanks for stopping by.  I'm excited to show you my latest published design in the Spring 2021 issue of Beadwork magazine.

My latest design, Flower Garden, is in the Fast and Fabulous section of Beadwork under the theme of Fresh Flowers.  My design features a pendant from Golem Design Studio with a lotus design in fresh greens and pinks.  I picked up the colors of the pendant in the beads I used for the necklace in Swarovski crystals, Czech glass and pressed glass flowers.

Why not try one of the flower designs in Beadwork for spring wear?  There are lots of beautiful ideas like leather flowers, a Japanese Garden-inspired necklace and a pendant made from quick cure clay.  You can get your copy here.

Vintage Bouquet Necklace

Hi everyone!  Happy New Year!

Today I'm happy to share a new published design with you.  It's in the February/March issue of Beadwork magazine with lots of other beautiful designs.

Mine is in the Fast and Fabulous section and the theme was leather and lace.  I love that combination and had a lot of fun creating a Vintage Bouquet Necklace with layers of brass filigree, leather and crochet lace flowers and vintage-style buttons.

Here's my photo of the necklace.
The motifs will overlap a little when you wear it.  These layered flowers are so versatile - imagine one on a bracelet or even a small one on a ring.  These leather flowers are easy to make with a die cutter or you can make your own.  You can even buy them pre-cut! So many possibilities for vintage goodness!

Wishing you a very creative New Year!

Over-the-top Sparkle

Hi everyone!

Beadwork showcases some Fast and Fabulous necklaces in their December 2019/January 2020 edition that are just the thing to add some glitter and glam to your outfit for a party or night out on the town.  Whether you want understated elegance or a full on statement necklace, there is something for everyone!

Here's my contribution to the glitter - my Silver Sparkle Necklace.  It's got a lot of swing to it, making it perfect for dancing.  These silvery glass beads have a unique cut called step faceting, so they really catch the light.  They are like mini disco balls!

I decided this necklace wasn't complete without a pair of earrings, and I had some extra beads, so - voila!

Now, I'm ready for some dancing!  No, wait, maybe a bracelet...

I got my copy a little early, so the issue isn't available generally yet.  But, in a few days, you should be able to find it on the website here.  As usual, it is filled with fabulous designs in bead weaving along with the Fast and Fabulous sparkle.  I love the ornaments on the front cover.  One of these days, I'll try one of those!

If you like the beads I used, you can find the Silver Iris faceted 4mm beads here and for the 8mm beads, go here.  Or, search halcraftcollection.com

Time to get your sparkle on!
Happy beading,
Terry

Best of Jewelry Stringing

Hi all!

I just received my copy of Best of Jewelry Stringing magazine in which I have a small part.  It's so nice to see Stringing again.  I love looking at all the beautiful designs for inspiration.  They always have the most interesting designs with innovative uses of components.  As a jewelry designer, it's always been one of my favorites and I was sad to see it go earlier this year.

Get your copy of the Best of Jewelry Stringing today and maybe they'll bring the magazine back!  (I can always hope, right?)

These are the earrings they chose for the magazine.

Also, if you like the style of Stringing, there are some designs included in Interweave's bead stitching magazine, Beadwork, under Fast and Fabulous.

Happy Creating!

PS  My earrings were featured in the Beading Daily blog post.  Thanks, Debbie!
